Changes

Exterior:

The front headlights are slimmer,

A thick chrome strip (or black depending on trim level) appears on the upper part of the grilles on DL and convertible models,

Introduction of the third brake light,

The trunk luggage rack on convertible models is no longer standard.

Reflectors added to the inner ends of the rear lights for DL versions.


Interior:

The dashboard and center console are modernized, but a plastic steering wheel replaces the leather-wrapped one.

Renault Alliance models are available in 4 versions: Alliance; Alliance L; Alliance DL and Alliance convertible

Renault Encore models are available in 4 versions: Encore S (3/5 doors); Encore LS (3/5 doors); Encore GS (3 doors); Encore Electronic (3 doors).

The Encore Electronic is introduced with its digital dashboard

Renault Encore Electronic


The Renault Encore Electronic was produced only in a 3-door version. It uses high-tech LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) instrumentation and various warning systems and indicator lights. The Electronic instrumentation is, of course, standard on the Electronic model, but also became available as an option on LS and GS models in mid-1986.

The Electronic is also equipped with a new "trip computer" providing information not available on the standard instrumentation: remaining fuel level, distance to the next refueling, average fuel consumption, outside temperature, and distance traveled. Everything we find today in modern cars...
